My goodness, poor Svetlana.
I know her brusque bearing and attitude can be douchey, but my goodness. Bella hasn’t even met her yet and she’s acting all afraid of her. This really hits close to home for me.

I don’t really like that bear, but I’m kinda surprised how racist they’re being.
It’s not really a Race thing, she’s just quite tall, and somewhat stern looking, Sorta like that Crazy Lunch lady some of us had when we where in elementary school, You just sorta look up and like OMG!! Believe me, its not a racist thing.

I think they are all being drama queens.
Personally, I don’t find her frightening. But then, I’m not easily intimidated by size or strength. Svetlana is not particularly charming or inviting, yet, but not something to run from on sight, either. I would certainly give her a chance to show a warmer side to her personality, after she gets to know you.
I do agree that they are being a bit much, but I myself don’t like her much myself. It is more her attitude that just rubs me the wrong way. Granted, this was also the source of my schadenfreude when I’d see exchange students coming to the high school I went to, and they’d immediately begin insulting and bashing anything American they could. Then they would stand around later in abject confusion when no one would give them the time of day. Only then would I go to them, try and explain what they were doing wrong and try to help them out.. Some would accept it, some wouldn’t, but I’d at least try.. Everyone deserves a chance to learn from a mistake.. But as said.. Svetlana I don’t like much, but I’m watching and seeing. This group she’s falling in with is an accepting one, so we’ll see what happens.
