I never saw or read The Neverending Story, so I don’t quite get the bad joke. I take it there’s a sphinx in it?
I saw it, and I think Jim’s talking about Falcor, a sort of flying dog-dragon. It’s… a bad comparison, so understandable why Josie’s saying that’s awful. I hope I’m wrong?

Small thing, but I gotta say, I really appreciate how Jim’s facial expressions are done on this page. You can see that he is still very disturbed emotionally over Dr Rogers’ rejection of his request for parental blessing, not to mention the close call on the cliff, yet he is trying not to let it show in his voice on the phone. Well done!
