Actually if you do the math, Sarina is 14. It’s been established there’s a 6 year age gap between her and Jo.
To be frank… while I sympathize with Manila’s plight of being “out of the pool” for so long, there are better ways to ease into dating other than trying to hook up with a high schooler. This just seems like a bad idea on several levels, even if they’re both legal.

Actually, Cheetah, in the second strip of this current arc, Jo says she’s been babysitting for Sari since Sari was 4 and she was 10. She also said that she’s been babysitting Sari for 10 years.
Well, there’s only 4 years between Sari and Josie.. we can’t always get it right.
Okay. I guess I’m a little too logical at times. I guess it’s the writer in me.
Jim mentioned earlier that in this world, the furries mature earlier than Humans would, and would likely be treated as full adults at a younger age as well. So while Sari may be in high school still, and just getting her permit to drive, she could still be considered an adult for the purposes of consensual relations. Not all cultures hold the same age standards that we do in the USA. (For that matter, in some states…)
I love Manilla’s reaction to Joyce’s casual acceptance of the situation, and her encouragement to call the boy. She called her friend, Jo’s mom, for advice, probably hoping that Joyce could help her to be reasonable and refrain from calling Anthony. But then Joyce casually suggests that Manilla should do exactly the thing that Manilla probably hoped she would talk her out of. Whooo!
Panel 4 looks like she’s considering it, but has her doubts that she could really do it. It has been a very long time for her, after all.
Joyce is right on the money. Manilla should call Anthony, level with him that she’s been ‘out of the pool’ for quite a while, and see if he would accept easing her back into the water. Now how could a member of the swim team refuse that?
You need to change a furry version of Einstein. Ever tought of writing as a profession?
Did a quick check. In Canada and in 30 of the US States plus the District of Columbia, the age of consent is 16.
When Joyce was corrected about him being on the swim team, instead of close enough, she should have said “Even better!” with subtext being like “Now he can teach you to swim all over again.” or something to that degree. Humorous page to say the least.
lol I think instead of Joyce saying “Close Enough!” at the end she should have said “Even Better!” that would have been even funnier IMO. *shrugs* But this was still pretty funny, I didn’t really see that vibe from Joyce before, but now I may have to re-think my previous notions of her. XD

lol As far as I know Jim will stay the artist of this comic for now and I really hope he´ll never leave cuz he draws it perfectly^^ Though Adam Wan is a good artist, too. And even if I may sound annoying while repeating myself, I think the forum is a much better place for questions like that (it could really use more love)
