Yee HAAA! Awesomeness! Zeroseven, he was my second guess, honest!! Heh, life just became more interesting for the highway patrol!
Erm… I know I couldn’t do better, yet am compelled to criticize. Cheetah was precise in both storyline and art, and this… it’s ok for starters… I guess…
LOL! One panel is a little early to criticize the storyline, isn’t it? Anyway, Cheetah is still the writer, and the artist formerly known as Val is also contributing to the story from what I’ve heard! But for a critique, I love Jo’s look, Sari’s eyes need to be much bigger, they always were big and sparkly, and here they actually look smaller than Jo’s eyes, who is a few feet further back. Just my opinion, and this is gonna evolve into something great!
Well, first impressions always make a difference in the beginning. Not saying it’s bad or anything, but my doubts will diminish once the next few updates are met. If it can only get better from here on, than I’ll admit my misjudgment of the new artist

Ill be the one to stand up and say it outright then. I did not like it. Probably due to the artist, he may need more work, or it just might be his style, but everything seemed wrong for me. For one, val tried to keep it “clean”. More or less, no extra lines, smudges, or fuzzy area’s. Not saying that there is smudge’s, but the overall comic lines just doesn’t seem as sharp. First problem.
Secound problem is the characters are deffinently out of proportion like erikon mentioned. Sari’s eye’s are too small, Jo’s bust is too small [last time I looked, jo had bigger boobs, but I might be blind :P] And a real big one for me is that it seems everyone’s face is a little bigger. Like they have squirrle cheeks or something?
As for other things, no background, car detail is undetailed [where is the steering wheel and shifter lever?], and clothing is undetailed……The list seems a mile long on bad things that need fixeing IMO. However as for the good, the theme is deffinently catchy, the “get out of jail free unzipped suit things” is eye catching, and the situation itself is indeed funny. So good exicution of the scenario. Its just the details, the details, and the details that are upsetting.
Says alot then.. As Jo’s boobs are actually smaller. And have tended to be small through the last 2 chapters. Exactly how they’re suppose to be.
Let me also say… THIS DISCUSSION is in the totally wrong place, and would be better off in the forums. Also, This picture was drawn up in the period of a few hours, because ZeroSeven wanted to redo the first strip to maintain proper continuity, he felt he was better off with the characters then when he had first drawn the strip to see if he’d take up the comic, so yes, versus not post ANYTHING I asked him to sketch up a quick chapter cover to show you guys. Beyond this, this really needs to move to the forum..

As the saying goes, “the devil is in the details.” I will see how that artist will improve (hopefully) with time.
Sari is getting a driver´s license? That´s gonna be fun! xD Also welcome to Zeroseven, I think you absolutely are a worthy successor! I think for your first page it looks really great! 🙂
@ Wizard lol I think Jo´s boobs are a bit too big cuz if I remember correctly she always had “normal sized boobs”

It kind of reminds me of those who are complaining about the new Doctor Who guy…
If you want something to continue, you must sometimes accept change. And no..this guy doesn’t draw just like her…but I rather like his stuff…
And I’m sure he’ll be quite expressive and provocative in his own way. :3

First of all, I’d like to express a truckload of thanks towards Zeroseven. I love his art and he’s taken over a huge task by becoming the new artist for CnC. NOT because I’m a hard act to follow (I’m really not guys), but because drawing and maintaining a weekly comic is a LOT of freaking work and responsibility! Especially when it’s someone else’s comic where you’re not used to drawing someone else’s characters. This is one title page, and quickly drawn no less, and I think it gets the job done – the expressions are good, the characters are RECOGNISABLE as to who they are meant to be and I think the details look fine. As far as I’m concerned, it looks like they are in a car. Zeroseven is still settling in to drawing CnC – drawing comics isn’t like drawing stand alone pictures, it takes getting used to. So, all I can hope and request is that those people who feel negative towards the changes is that you can be patient and enjoy the new style as it evolves and to not nitpick every step of the way.: T
Also; no, Jo’s boobs are not too small. She’s never had big boobs and if she did that was MY mistake, she’s always been meant to have small B cups, compared to Sari’s near D’s.

Yeah, I’m going to echo V. on this. Seriously guys? This is the first drawing this person has done for CnC. Give them a break. The picture is pretty, the characters are recognizable, the figures are still fine and I’m willing to bet, the story will still have all the things you love. Give them a chance, would ya’? This comic stuff is a pain in the arse to do. It’s hard to stay motivated for. Show the artist some love and give them a chance to find their groove. Looking at their folder, I can already tell that none of us are going to be disappointed by where this is going.

I’ll save final judgement for when I see more. Can’t expect the pic to be a carbon copy so not gonna say it’s bad. Only thing I didn’t like is that Sari looks like she’s alot older in this cover pic. Sari always kinda had a cute look to her, which I really liked. Again first page, and says it was a rushed thing to get the cover up. And from his gallery I have high hopes. So long as the spirit of the comic remains and it doesn’t get reduced to a sprite comic I’ll always love it.
I love the comic and I think the new artist should be given a chance to express his style in drawing.
I might be dating myself with this reference, but to me, this image looks like something from Cannonball Run back in 1981. Two gorgeous girls with big chests in unzipped jumpsuits…
Well, I wasn’t sure if Sari’s bust was larger than Jo’s all this time. Granted neither of them are “over sized”, but I have never seen as big of a difference like I have in this panel before.
With that said, that was my secound post since the very start of this comic. I was posting a comment, not a discussion. With this said and done, Im crawling back under my rock once again.
Oh, and yes I do expect changes since val has stepped down, its just things didn’t mesh right. It might be due to the rushed effort, Ill join the rest of the group. Wait till the next couple updates, then judge.

I want to thank for all the comments my first panel of CnC has gotten. Both the positive and negative comments. The positive comments for making me want to do more strips, and the negative in pointing out where I need to improve.
I’m probably not going to be able to start emulating Val’s style, simply because I’m not Val. But I will still try to follow her example, by making the best CnC comic I can.
As the saying goes, you need to learn to walk before you can run. And I’m technically still crawling.

Well Said.
Being a lurker on this site for the last year has shown me that this comic relies heavily on facial expressions(the eyes, the EYES.. XD). that said, it should probably be your main area of detail, which shouldn’t be a problem based on your artistic talent.
A great artist taking over a great comic.

Isn’t this the scene from Cannonball Run? When the pair of women drivers get pulled over? Works once for them, then they get the only straight female cop in a 10,000 mile radius.
Well the girl cop was in the sequel but yes. That’s the joke 😛
