I hate to do this to ya, but we’re having a few technical difficulties, So I wanted to wish you a happy New Year’s 2014 , I hope all of you had a safe and happy 1st. You may be seeing a shift in the comics style, to something similar to this new years pic, and a push towards being more accurately depicted. I don’t foresee more than this week being delayed. I strive to bring you the best I can with CnC and I realize a lot of you have been hoping for something different. I’d really like to hear your thoughts in the comments section, so even if you’re not a normal commenter. PLEASE SPEAK UP!

I see nothing wrong with this style. As for ‘accurately depicted’, I am not sure what you mean. Is the cast member interaction going to be patterned more after RL events or are the situations in the story going to be more realistic?
I meant the style of the chapter.. not of this style.. THis artist may be taking over the strip is what I’m saying.
The style is fine, I was actually hard-pressed to realize it was a different artist who drew this pic for a moment.
Next chapter, I think there needs to be a shake up. Some big THING. I don’t know what though. Perhaps a secret office love affair involving one of the main core cast or something, like what was happening near the beginning of the comic until those characters all packed up and left for parts unknown.
Maybe the store will face some crisis and they have to put on a fundraiser or something with sexy results. Car wash station? I dunno.
Introduce a villain/rival character who will try to get between Jim and Jo or something and add in some tension. With sexy results!
No more married characters. We need unrestricted characters to play with beyond Jim, Jo and Sarina. XD
Focus on Bella and Alexia, didn’t they have plans to go speed dating at some point? Sexy results maybe? :3
Focus on Sarina’s relationship with the new guy, without ninja interference. XD
Bring Manila back into the story, haven’t heard from her in awhile. (in the present-tense anyway) I wonder how she and Anthony are getting along? XD

I find it hard you don’t see the difference in styles.
Working on next chapter now. I had ideas for villains, but I didn’t know how well it’d go over. Lana’s the ONLY Married character. LOL well cept Joyce and Fred (Jo’s Parents) The Bella Alexia script was supose to be written by Miss Mab, I’ve had a hard time coming up with it myself for speed dating LOL. There’ll be plenty of Sarina and Darren coming up. And yes, planning on touching on the hinted Manila Joyce thing as well.
Oh I see the differences now, I just wasn’t paying super close attention when I first saw it.
A villain/rival would probably go over pretty well. They work for me. XD Just don’t make them TOO bad, for instance, no attempted murders.
I don’t mean there are too many married characters; I just mean next time you introduce a character don’t make them married, because it limits how the others can interact with them.

I love a humorous sexy little strip, though lately it feels like the sexy part has left the equation. This is probably just my opinion though, since I over sexualize all the ladies of the strip. I’m the type that would enjoy Darren walking in on Jim and Sarina, as they’re doing an intense shoot. But like I said, that’s just me.

The current style has been pretty cute, but hey I am also a big (and new) fan of Mackey, so this would be an exciting transition. I think there were quite a few inspired moments of silliness lately. Though maybe some punches on fanservice were pulled, it was still an enjoyable read to me.
My position mainly is, that as long as the CnC comic continues it’s all good.

I have been following this strip for years. But this is the first time i commented or even had an account here. Because i feel so strongly about this. I feel the chapter Meet the Doyles was the best, it had comedy crazy stuff and nudity/sex content. It all worked great and at the end i felt something had actually happened in that chapter. But its been slowly going down hill ever since. You start new characters and story lines but you just stop them just after building all of them up. It takes forever for the chapters to get going and just as i feel we may see something worth reading and looking at it stops dead and something else replaces it. Honestly if the story your creating sucks, or not. At least finish where you are sending it. Its one thing to have a bad chapter. But when i sink all this time and effort into reading it loyally and giving it all the chance in the world and just as i am getting into it even the slightest bit. Its canceled and something else replaces it. Its like watching a movie and the dvd is scratched and you have to skip parts to get to a section that will play again and you end up missing the good part you spent all that time building up to. and before your know it your reading the credits going WTF just happened? Its Over? But what was the resolution? So my point is, bad or good. Just finish the story.
I appreciate your response. THis story isn’t going to suddenly side shift, and I’ve got plans to tie up some story holes. The only thing changing here is the style. The story is staying, and this arc will finish up, though theoretically it’ll build on Lana’s relationship surrounding Jim, it’ll conclude the activity no so much be concluded. I’m planning on touching back on Sari and Darren, Bella and Alexia’s speed dating , and more.. Let me know what you want to know, and I’ll see about getting it proper, I know I’ll be touching back on Manila, as well as her relationship with Joyce that’s been hinted at since the “Guns solve everything” Chapter, so let me know what I may have missed.
I like the art style; it’s a bit less ‘cartoony’ than ChettDog’s and while I like Chett’s style as well, his just didn’t feel like the right fit for THIS particular comic.
In my opinion the overall tone has changed dramatically over time and while I still like the comic, I don’t know if the change in tone is productive. C&C started out primarily driven by relationships and adult hijinks, with a bit of slapstick thrown in to keep it light. Over time it seems like it has shifted more towards slapstick comedy with the occasional adult moments here and there, which is not unexpected once the initial character introductions and other ‘groundwork’ is complete, but the exploration of relationships has slowed to a crawl and that ‘groundwork’ doesn’t seem to be very solid.
The new relationships added to the mix haven’t really helped either.. unfortunately they’ve just muddied the water up to this point. My guess is issues with artistic continuity are a big factor, as well as the departure of characters who were probably meant to be fairly significant in the long run, but as others have pointed out there also doesn’t seem to be any real direction to the comic at the moment.. no unifying theme. While that’s not necessarily a dealbreaker (plenty of comics out there have no ‘Big Message’) I get the feeling that there’s a lot of untapped potential just waiting for an outlet and it’s being held back by the changes.
Throwing a rival into the mix right now would probably be extremely counterproductive as it would just add another dynamic to an already chaotic mix, but down the road it could be a great thing, giving the characters something to react to without uprooting the existing order too much, especially if they’re less ‘villain’ and more ‘occasional convenient plot complication’.
I’m sorry if this comes off as harsh or overly critical, I’m really not trying bash or discourage anyone, I just really like the characters you’ve created and enjoy the stories they have to tell, and I hope it continues for a long time. I’d gladly offer to pitch in but my creative abilities are pretty much non-existent, and the closest I can get is offering (hopefully) constructive criticism or critiquing when asked. So in that vein, I’d suggest what others have already done (and which you seem to be planning): finish a few storylines, tie up some loose ends, and put down a good base to build on going forward. Resist the urge to throw more ingredients into the pot until the current ones have finished settling. And stay true to your own ideal. This is YOUR comic, after all; you’re just sharing it with us.
I won’t lie, the relationship of Darren and Sarina was rushed forward due to the amount of people complaining about her relationship status. Lana WAS NOT a direct replacement for Thisisa, and the loss of all of Rod’s family set us back a bit. I do plan on finishing this chapter then attacking a few loose ends, some stuff just needs to be brought back over time. It’s been hard to have some things reset. I had a lot of plans with the Sarina’s childhood arc… that got kicked in the groin because I let the opinion of othes rest to heavily on my chest, so from now on, it’ll run with what I want to do, and we’ll go from there.
I like this new artist’s style. IMO, ChettDog’s style didn’t really work with the characters in bringing out their sexy and playful personalities. The interpersonal relationships between the primary and secondary characters needs to be explored more fully, possibly in side-plots; Sari and her new boyfriend for instance. I’ve followed this comic from go and have enjoyed it over the years. Sadly, it seems the fun has gone out of it a tad and I hope to see it return in 2014.
There’s a lot in store. Don’t wanna give too much away, hopefully this new style works out.
Well you asked for comments, though I normally do not get replies…I like to write, but I am different, and perhaps to extreme for most people. I have really enjoyed your innuendo, which seems to be a change. I was intrigued when Jim talked about Sarina surprising that rabbit, AND Sari talked about them showering together… and I nearly fell off my chair when she mentioned eating pie….. Of course teasing gets old, for me it woudl be nice to see that innuendo turned into action. Jim and the others giving Sari their blessing to fool around with the bunny, or actually fooling around with Jim and Josephine.
I was also quiet attentive to your side story with Manila getting hit on by the high school otter, and while seeing the art was fun, it woudl be refreshing to see that actually incorporated into a story where Manila gets seduced into a long term physical relationship with that otter….
I don’t know if there are acceptable comments or comments you wanted…but you have sure danced along the knife edge of some VERY interesting plot turns I rarely see writers take..I’d like to see you take them. You started the series with Sari naked hiding a vibrator under her pillow, I am curious to see if you will take it to the next level and yet still retain the plot.

Technically the “AN Evening with Manila” was deemed canon, which shows her and Anthony having quite the fling, though I will be touching back on that in the comic. DOn’t you worry, our new Bunny has a lot in store for him as well. I don’t know if there’s an unacceptable comment? A comments a comment, though “Wow cool” doesn’t say a lot , I know you don’t leave comments like that. Either case, you’ll see next week why we’ll be able to do more in depth stories again. Having gone back and read others comments (My first post was before i read anything anyone else wrote) I’d like to make a mention of the possible villain/rival.
I have to agree I think the rival / Villain thing WOULD be helpful… I woudl like you woudl consider a few things.
Once again I am tired of teases and Cliche’s Everyone writes a villain as a sadist, someone so despicably bad that EVERYONE hates him for example Sari’s father obviously callous perhaps even abusive…. for me, It would be refreshing to see a return of the villain everyone loves to hate… Once that doesn’t focus on sadism but is obviously NOT a good guy.
By way of example…. (and this is EXAMPLE only though if you like the ideas use them) What if Darren seduced Manila, and then used the relationship to blackmail her, Manila is the couch of the rival swim team… throw a few key swim meets (perhaps so Darren gets a college scholarship) and of course keep going to bed with me. And what IF, no one actually found out and he gets away with it.
Josephine and Jim…what IF one of them actually CHEATED on the other, and again…no one ever found out…it IS possible just never seen it done…it’s obviously wrong, dangerous but when no one finds out obviously the other character is not hurt (And by the way I am not talking just a once or twopence trice the affair would be long term)
I know these are prob not popular suggestions, but I feel they are new and it woudl add SPICE 🙂 sorry if I offended.
I’ve had a rival story in the works for some time, it’ll involve introducing two new characters, and it’ll be an on running thing for at least a chapter or two.. But I just needed to get to a point in detail with an artist that I could pull the storyline off. Hopefully once we’re on a roll we can work up to getting some support again, and possibly even jumping to two updates a week. BUt as it sits, I’m financially at my max when it comes to supports CnC at the moment, but there’s plenty to look forward to.
You know, Mr. Cheetah, I really feel for your appeal to have people comment, you really struck a chord, as when I write, i LOVE to have people give me their ideas and comments so I think I understand.
I have always had some strong ideas and opinions on your comic (I have been viewing it since you started) but I have always worried that you already have a story line and my comments woudl be outside that, add to that my desire to be very unconventional woudl mean I would be unpopular with your other fans. (Likely making you torn a bit as to what to do) I’d even like to donate to help you do MORE of these comic, especially if you were able to incorporate some of my ideas and desires.
I like the way you have said things, and I think we have much in common, I have often wished you and I could be closer friends
There doesn’t see to be much ‘going on’ By this I mean we are watching every day lives but no big happenings. I’ve seen a lot of suggestions for those before but its true. Maybe Sari get sex addict enough they have to have an intervention. Maybe Alexia gets drunk once and seduces (anybody). My some one in town tries to shut the store down because of its other activities. What if Bella comes back and she’s got religion. What if Martians attack? What if a rival clan of ninjas shows up?
I like the art, the current pic up is good but I want to see more before Judge fully. I think the comic has a lot of potential I just think it needs direction again.
It is strange that I’m not a big fan of this couple, in fact I think I dislike it for some reason. I think the girl should become a full time lesbian or something, Imaging the amount of stories you could make from.
Jim and Sari really aren’t a couple, and Sari’s really not a lesbian.. so yeah.. neither would really work out. 😛
Okay nothing needs to happen in a big way, life ain’t an afternoon soap opera. We get plenty happening and it is fun to see the sparks fly and the low key humor. If we see something else it is a bonus.
The portfolios will show us the more risque stuff, and besides I think every character has something to give the plot. I would love to see more of the less seen cast members and may a backroom romance could blossom between say the mouse and somebody unexpected may be Bella or Alexa. Sorry mouse I can not remember your name right now.

Ever since I first found Cats n Cameras (around three or four years ago) I fell in love with the character interactions more than the artwork (which I still thought was wonderful), and nothing has changed about that. Seeing the change to the cast was one thing I dread would be the end of the comic, and yet Cats n Cameras kept going forward with new additions, and more people offering their characters for certain arcs. Through everything that has happened in the comic, I’ve been eagerly waiting for each comic over time.
Seeing what Mackey has done in the image with Sari and Jim, I was awed by not only the sexiness, but also the perspective work, and the speed at which he managed to get it done. My hope is that he does more work for Cats n Cameras in the future. Although I might like to see Rod return, I would also like to see more characters like Skylar return for more CnC fun!
In the end, my hope is that Cats n Cameras continues for a long time, if for no other reason than to open opportunities for more character development, and more enjoyable story lines.

Thanks for sticking around so long. I am going to devote more time to developing character relationships and make sure that I don’t jump around too horribly. I don’t know if there’s too much of a chance of Rod coming back since he was based on one of the original artists people that she knew in real life. But there’s always a possibility because I don’t think she’s doing too much else with him now. I hope you continue to enjoy the storylines as I develop as a writer I hope to bring you more enjoyable storylines thanks again.
