Have to say, all this info about Melody and Jim at summer camp, when they were a lot younger, finally explains her flashing Jim with her tits, way back when she first appeared in this comic, as a client for a not particularly adult rated photoshoot. In retrospect, and without scouring the archives to check, if feels like she knew who Jim was when she signed up for that photoshoot, but Jim either didn’t recognize her as a grown woman, or was trying to play it cool and not react to a childhood girlfriend in front of Jo? Either way, fun to fill in past interrelationships between the characters.
Ok, found her intro, in #307. Originally a patron cameo, and judging from her next several appearances getting frisky with Jo, it looks like the idea she had been intimate with Jim when they were younger was added later, when she became more of a regularly appearing guest in the strip? Love her as a character, either way!
