If he loves his job, he’ll understand that Jessi just isn’t any good at Spanish. BTW, Jessi, I learned a long time ago that you shouldn’t translate what you want to say; you need to think in the language you’re trying to learn. Not easy, but it helps. LOL.
Oh I think Jessi is a cunning linguist and has said exactly what she meant.

Maybe Jessi can use that little slip to her advantage. If she bombs on a test she can just get him alone and say, “Gee Mr.Arnet isn’t there SOMETHING I can do to improve my grade?”
