I agree. Jim’s statement about the second floor REALLY has me wondering what it’s all about. The phrase “off putting” tends to imply that strange things have been going on there ever since he was a teenager. Hmm. Is there more to this building than we have been led to believe? I guess only time will tell. LOL.

I GOT IT! She was part of a gang who hid their illgotten gains in the walls of the second floor! She wants to rent it to get at all the cash and jewelry hidden in those walls before the rest of her gang come looking.
OMG You got it exactly right. Well except for most things. She is a she, she does want to rent the 2nd floor. But after that it sort of tapers off :p
Lol! Sorry just tried to think of the most outlandish and cliche reason she might know about the second floor and be so interested in it. I thought it was funny how you have Jim doing the air quotes in the last panel. My first instinct was to scan his speech bubble to find what words he was putting those quotes around.
You don’t suppose it’s the words that are actually in quotes, do you? Nah. It couldn’t be. That would be too obvious. LOL.
